Not surprising. There was an elder just appointed in my old congregation that is known by everyone (I guess except those in the congregation) that is fooling around with a married woman. He is a grandson of a local heavyweight in the org so he gets a pass. That's the way it works with "holy spirit' I guess.

To everyone, If an active JW can look this quote up in their WT Library, then it's the TRUTH ® to them. You know it, I know it, and most importantly, those JW's know it. I have in the past had Circus Overseeums quote from very old publications in Servant meetings to get their points across. So, I wouldn't readily dismiss something from JW land if it is 70 years old. (Unless it is 'censored' from their library, then it never happened....to them)

The only thing I give the JW's credit for in my life is the freedom from these stupid holidays. No, I do NOT 'celebrate' Christmas or any other holiday. But I now don't feel guilty either enjoying the music, food, or anything else.

Not trying to be "that person" but you haven't forgiven, forgot, or looked over anything. Sorry. My advice, if you like her, be with her. Live in the moment (Jesus actually commanded that at Matt, 6:34) and enjoy each other. If not, move on and don't play with her emotions.As my best-friend I love her unconditionally and I forgive her past and look over it, just as she would with me.
